When Faith Leads, Fear Has No Power

When Faith Leads, Fear Has No Power

“Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its struggles, it empties today of its strength.”

Corrie Ten Boom

Worrying will always cast a dark foreboding shadow over its victim. It comes at us very subtly.

Maybe we develop a strange new pain in our bodies -straightway, we assume it is cancer.

Maybe the family member doesn’t show up when they said they would, and we begin to imagine the worst possible case scenario.

Someone may casually mention something negative that appears to threaten our livelihood. We then begin to wring our hands, our heart skips a beat, and next, we visualize ourselves a pauper on the street corner with a cardboard sign and a tin can in hand.

Suppose someone randomly mentions something about Social Security running out, or hiked-up Medicare prices, or Islamic warfare on American soil. We immediately get into a frenzy before we have all the facts.

The devils in the unseen world must mock our lack of trust in God.

Our lives should be so centered around Christ that none of these things would move us. I think we sometimes forget just how much we are loved and cared for by our Heavenly Father. If He takes care of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, will He not take care of us?

Fear drives us to make rash decisions while faith allows us to sit back and wait for the right course of action.

Life is not as complicated as we think when we learn to trust God and put Him first. When confronted with life decisions, take time to pray.

“Trust in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.”

Psalm 37:7
